The Knitting Room would like to thank all of our loyal customers for your patronage in 2014, and wish you the very best of 2015 - The Year of the Goat!

The Angora goat - the source of Mohair.

Did you know - due to its high lustre and sheen, mohair is also known as the 'diamond fibre'? Besides being super lustrous, its light weight and warmth are absolutely nonpareil. A little mohair can go a long way in making you feel as warm and cosy as a goat!
Perhaps 2015 is a good year to make something - maybe even for yourself - in mohair! Yes!
Consider adding it to your knitting resolutions - somewhere between finishing up that beckoning project and culling out the yarn in your stash!

Thank you once again, and we look forward to serving your knitting needs in 2015. The store will re-open for regular hours of operation on January 2. Please call for details about upcoming classes you are interested in, and do drop by for "Sit and Knit" Thursdays - we'd love to see you!

Tuesday, 23 December 2014

In the meantime, we would like to wish you a peaceful and very merry Christmas!

Alpaca! Alpaca! Alpaca!

Nothing beats the feel of soft, cozy, warm  alpaca, and if Alpaca is what you're looking for, The Knitting Room is certainly the place to be these days!
In addition to the Diamond Luxury "Embrace" featured last week, we have many,  many more alpaca yarns, including the recently arrived Drops "Air" and "Brushed Alpaca Silk".
These products achieve an incredibly soft result from two completely different methods. "Air" is produced by blowing fibres of alpaca, polyamide and wool together.
"Alpaca Silk" is achieved by actually brushing the blended alpaca and mulberry silk fibres. Come and 'touch' for yourself!

Back by popular demand - We are holding a spot for you in our classroom on Thursday afternoons! Our shop is of course open to at all times, but if you're looking for a place to spend a pleasant afternoon of knitting, why not pop by? The coffee will be on.  Grab a buddy or two, and feel welcome to come get away from it all -  and back in to what really satisfies - KNITTING!
